Connections

Connections lists the databases your agents reach: each one's kind, tier, environment, agent and last probe. Its credential stays on the agent's machine; this list holds names, versions and tiers.

  • Add connection shows the command to run on the paired machine: strata connect add kube --context <name> --environment dev. The agent probes it first and reports it here once it answers.
  • A connection opens to what its agent found: its context, flavour and version, its server, the namespaces its credential may list, the tools it offers, and the rules that apply to it. Probe asks its agent to prove it now: whether the cluster or database answers, through the agent's own connection to this workspace. It needs the agent running strata serve; when it is not, Probe is disabled and says so. Forget here (an Owner) takes it off this list. The agent keeps it and reports it again on its next probe; strata connect remove removes it for good.
  • Environment rules set the tier of a namespace or database by name, ahead of its connection's own. Connections says how many there are; they are edited and tested in Policy.
